Executive Coaching
Discovery
Understanding the leader you are — and the one you want to become
Discovery is the starting point for most of my coaching programmes. It creates a clear, evidence-based picture of your leadership today and the trajectory you want to follow.
The process typically takes between two and six weeks and includes in-person time wherever possible. For many clients, this early immersion becomes one of the most valuable phases of the entire journey.
What Discovery includes
Chemistry and trust
Before any formal work begins, we ensure we are a good fit. Confidentiality and trust have to underpin every aspect of our relationship.
360° feedback interviews
I speak with a number of your colleagues — typically a blend of superiors, peers and direct reports — to understand how you are experienced by others.
The emphasis is always constructive:
- Detailed feedback
- No judgement
- Clear patterns and actionable insight
This work alone often surfaces powerful themes that shape the rest of our journey.
Psychometric testing and psychological insight
You will complete psychometric assessments conducted by an expert business psychologist.
Together we explore:
- Motivations
- Strengths
- Blind spots
- Underlying beliefs
- Attributes that may become weaknesses if overplayed
These insights help us understand not just how you lead, but why.
Goal-setting coaching
Discovery concludes by aligning three elements:
- What motivates you -
purpose, ambition, values - Where you are now —
based on 360° feedback and psychometrics - Where you want to be —
the next chapter of your leadership
This gives us the clarity and direction to choose the right coaching path.
Outcome:
Discovery will provide you with a deeper understanding of yourself, a clear set of objectives, and a map for the leadership journey ahead.
For many clients, it is the first time they’ve had an unfiltered, high-quality picture of how others experience them — invaluable insight at moments when the next step matters most.
